Download prior versions of uTorrent for Windows. All previous versions of uTorrent are virus-free and free to download at Uptodown. There are many reasons that could point you to this radical decision. To begin with, some of your apps may not be working properly or simply crash on newer operating systems.

This includes not just space for the OS itself but also space for other applications and your user data. The chart below tells you how much free space is needed. Note, that it is recommended that you install OS on a clean drive.

Next, you will need enough disk space available, for example, to create Recovery Partition. Here are some ideas to free up space on your drive:. It deletes system junk, old broken apps, and the rest of hidden junk on your drive. Normally, it is assumed that updating OS is a one-way road. The main challenge is to download the OS installation file itself, because your Mac may already be running a newer version. The purchased section lists only those operating systems that you had downloaded in the past.

But here is the path to check it:. I just stopped by to ask you if it's any way possible to download old versions of uTorrent from this official uTorrent Web site? I have looked through most parts of this Web site but I could not find any section like an archive section for old versions some software teams use FTP servers to make old software versions and documentation available.

I couldn't even find any information that states if it is possible or not to download old versions of uTorrent from this official uTorrent Web site. That's why I am asking you know.

I am aware that it is possible to download the older versions of uTorrent from various software depositories like the CNET Downloads, TuCows, FileHippo, TopSofts and so on, but from my own computing experience I know that the chances are much higher that you will get infected by a virus or other malicious code when downloading software from this type of Web sites either by visiting the site itself or by executing the downloaded installer.

That's why I am much more inclined to download software from their official developer Web site instead of downloading from third-party Web sites. The reason I am asking is because I am trying to help another fellow who told me that the tracker site he usually visits to download torrents issued a warning message to it's members where they warn about security risks in version 1.

Any of the tinfoil hat wearing paranoia surrounding 1. All proof regarding such paranoia proves that the concerns are NOT justified. I am personally not familiar with the problem so I don't know exactly what it is about version 1.

What I do know is that my friend said to me that it had something to do with seeding ratio hijacking so to speak, where one could download torrent data and charge the other members account so that it would look like if that member was the one who downloaded it and it would lead to bad low seeding ratio for that member while leaving your own untouched. You understand what I'm saying? Is this something that you guys are aware of? Is it solved now?

I looked through the change log for 1. Perhaps it has been solved a long time ago in an earlier version. If you know about it please enlighten me. I don't think that the most current incarnation of a software product is always the most stable and secure one.

That is not always the case. It can not be trusted. Bittorrent Inc. Use at own risk. To be even safer, switch to Azureus. PR, Thanks for the heads up on the utorrent issue. I will be removing the 1. Reviewer: DudeBoyz Feb 15, Version: 1. That version should be safe I believe and is still an excellent client.

If you wish to use Utorrent, I'd simply say stay with the 1. I don't see why anybody would want to, especially with the original author no longer coding the program. He cashed out and he's done. Whatever happens from this point forward is no longer something he's involved in, I believe. Bearshare, Utorrent, what's next? They are letting their money do the fighting for them and have ruined what was a fantastic product.

Too bad it wasn't made Open Source so someone could continue on the work in the right way. The backlash against Utorrent is not FUD. Simply looking at who bought the program and who is now updating the code should be enough to convince anybody that the Utorrent we knew is gone. Anything after that is suspect. This software is excellent.

Great improvements especailly when u can limit the speed of uplods. I love it. Keep up the great work. I started using utorrent about a month ago and it is excellent!

Especially once you foward a port on your router. I get incredible speeds and it is very easy to use. I don't see myself ever using any other client. Works well, have used other clients before and this one is by far the best and doesn't take up a lot of space to run.

Best bittorrent client there is. For Java based Azureus is the biggest memory hog.
